Top down bottom up cellular shades are the most flexible cellular product we install. The shade can be raised from the bottom (like a standard shade), lowered from the top (so the upper window is exposed while the bottom stays closed), or both — letting you pick exactly how much privacy and how much daylight on the same window. You have a front-facing window close to the sidewalk where you've been balancing privacy with wanting daylight. Your bathroom has a window facing a neighbor's house or the street — you want light from the top of the window but full privacy at sink and tub level. Our Top Down Bottom Up Cellular Shades Options
Within top-down-bottom-up we offer light-filtering and blackout fabric options. Light filtering is the much more common choice — the whole point of the dual operation is to let daylight in from the top, which works best with a translucent fabric. Blackout top-down-bottom-up is used in bedrooms where you want the top of the window dark at night but want to leave the bottom raised during the day.
Operation is via cords (standard, two pulls — one for top, one for bottom) or cordless with two grip handles. Motorized top-down-bottom-up is available but adds significant cost and complexity since it requires two independent motors per shade — we usually steer clients to manual operation here unless the window is genuinely hard to reach. Cell size and fabric color choices match the standard cellular line.
